Our intellectual property practice entails advise on the registration of trademarks, patents, industrial designs, assignments and registered user agreements (licenses) for numerous multinational and local clients. We also represent clients in opposition proceedings and IP-related litigation.
- 2014 audited the IP portfolio of Kenya Planters’ Co-operative Union (K.P.C.U), the Largest and the oldest coffee miller and coffee marketer in Africa. MMAS Advocates successfully restored and renewed all their trademarks.
- 2020 audited the IP portfolio of TSS Grainmillers Limited (in Receivership) and successfully renewed all their trademarks. Subsequently, advised on the transfer and conducted the transfer and assignments to new owners. Advised and represented a party in the acquisition of Trademarks and goodwill of TSS Grain millers.
- 2021 Audited the IP portfolio of a confidential client (in Receivership) and successfully restored trademarks removed from the register of trademarks, and renewed all the lapsed trademarks.
We have advised and acted for confidential Clients in acquisition and assignment of trademarks and goodwill.
- 2015 successfully guided a team of experts in carrying out audits and assessments of the Good Will of a regional chain of supermarkets.
